Ways to Stop Snoring

Snoring has transformed from being an individual's 'small little' secret to an universal megaton problem that is apparently affecting many households. It is a common problem among lots of men but it affects women as well. The reasons behind snoring are many, both internal and external.

Many people out there are looking for ways to stop snoring. Here are a few suggested and proven ways to go about it. One of the sure ways to stop snoring is to stop lying on the back and to get used to lying on the sides. Lying on the back makes the tongue move backwards and it strikes against the uvula causing you to snore.

Taking control of your body weight will also work towards getting rid of that snore. Avoid fatty foods and heavy meals right before sleeping. Alcohol, cigarettes and sleeping pills will always work against you as far as getting rid snoring is concerned. For this reason avoid them if you can. In addition to checking on your health by doing all the above, avoid allergens that cause allergies because once they block the nose, it results to snoring.

Other ways to stop snoring include stress management, use of anti-snoring pillows, use of nasal sprays to coat the soft tissues in the throat hence avoid vibration, use of a mouth piece called a sleep pro, use of nasal strips among others. If all these do not seem to work, then you could consult your doctor to have a surgery done to deal with snoring problem once and for all.

Stop Snoring Now

Change Sleeping Positions: If you care currently lying on your back you must begin lying on your side. When you lie on your back the muscles in the back of your throat become soft and relaxed and that is what causes that annoying loud sound. If you must purchase some body pillows and put them behind your back to prevent you from rolling over onto your back. If that does not help you can stick a tennis ball or racquet ball in a tube sock and tie the sock to the back of your pajamas this will prevent you from rolling over onto your back during the night.

Watch What You Eat And Exercise: Studies have been shown that you are more prone to snoring if you have a weight problem. This is the first sign to having a health problem.

Stop Using Pillows: Bulky pillows have been known to cause a kink in your neck and will block your airways while you sleep.

Breathe-Strips: These are some band aid looking strips that you put across the top of your nose. These actually stretch your nose airways open so that you can breath during the night while you sleep.
